Availability
Services that keep running even if an entire site goes down.
YAS · SENEGAL
Two geo-redundant data centres, built and then operated by Synelia: the foundation on which YAS offers its B2B customers a cloud service hosted in Senegal — one that runs, for example, SEN’EAU’s infrastructure.
THE CONTEXT
Senegalese businesses and institutions need to host their systems close to home, with high availability and data that stays in the country.
YAS entrusted Synelia with building a cloud infrastructure spread across two geographically separate data centres, then running it day to day: YAS sells the offering, Synelia runs the platform.
THE CHALLENGES
Services that keep running even if an entire site goes down.
Data hosted in Senegal, under the operator’s control.
Resources provided to B2B customers — isolated, metered and billed.
OUR RESPONSE
Two separate, replicated sites, built to withstand the loss of an entire site.
Storage and databases replicated between the two sites.
In the event of an incident, services fail over to the second site.
Each B2B customer has isolated, dedicated resources.
Monitoring, maintenance, security and upgrades of both sites, handled by our teams.
Network segmentation, access control and backups.
ARCHITECTURE
OPERATIONS
Once the platform is live, our teams operate it: both sites are managed as a single whole.
Availability, capacity and replication status monitored continuously across both sites.
Updates, patches and maintenance of the equipment and the virtualisation layer.
Inter-site failover procedures, recovery tests and verified backups.
Segmentation, privileged access control, vulnerability tracking.
Provisioning of environments for YAS’s B2B customers and support for their migrations.
Additional capacity and new services as the offering grows.
